Fi Flo Hoops is a self taught Hula Hooper from Northern Ireland, after finding the world of hula hooping on Youtube in June 2015 she became obsessed with this plastic circle and all its possibilities. Having had a tough year trying to find a job after university, Fi was suffering with anxiety, depression and a coordination disorder. In October 2015 she attended her first hula hoop workshop with Emma Kenna from Hooping Mad in Dublin and caught the bug big time. Having her hula hoop training to focus on gave Fi a sense of purpose again and the anxiety and depression started to fade. She made the decision to stay living at home, take any work going and save to travel and learn more about hula hooping. Between 2015 -2018 she traveled to hula hoop conventions in the republic of Ireland, mainland England, Amsterdam, Italy, and Turkey learning from the best international hula hoopers. It was during this time that she realised how much this hula hooping had benefited her and started thinking seriously about turning it into a business where she could share the joy with others. She signed up to Emma Kenna’s Hooping Mad teacher training programme in 2018 and has been teaching and performing ever since.
Fi Flo Hoops loves sharing her love of hooping and the physical and mental benefits of this hobby. Certified in autism awareness and currently training as a counsellor, Fi understands that a hula hoop can be so much more than a plastic circle!
Fi Flo Hoops has been featured in The Sunday Life, Breathe Magazine and Take a Break and holds full public liability insurance and is fully qualified in the art of hoop.
